Why Hanafi Muslims stay silent behind Imam in Congregational Salah?

In this post I shall tell you why majority of the muslims, which is Hanafi Muslims, do not recite Surah Fatiha + a Surah in their Salah when they are praying behind an Imam, in congregational prayers. this post is only directed towards this issue only. So I will not go into a lot of details and Fiqhi rulings because this is a different matter and argument. I will validate the chains and proofs on why Hanafi muslims do not recite surah faitha behind imam and remain silent in all prayers.

Why am I writing this post, you may ask? the problem is, not everyone has the time to read a lot of books on their own and because of this reason, a self claimed Ahle Hadees/wahhabi/salafi kharji sect in islam misguide innocent muslims by saying ” if you do not recite fatiha behind imam your prayer becomes invalid ” astagfirullah what a lie may Allah’s LANAT be upon liars just look at these aholes? One of my brothers, see what he writes:

“Recently it has been experienced that some people stubbornly claim that whosoever does not recite Surah al-Fatiha behind the Imam then his prayer is not acceptable (i.e. It is null and void). Whether it is necessary to recite behind the Imam or not is a minor issue, but when arrogant people make rigid statements like: Prayer of people who do not recite is “NULL AND VOID” then it becomes necessary to write a detailed refutation of such extremists. With the Grace of Allah “NOT” reciting behind Imam is something which is proven directly from Qur’an itself” copied from ahlus-sunna.com(click here to read his article as well)

there are 4 Madhabs right now that are perfectly codified and have reached us in Tawatur(mass transmission) and a Muslim should follow any one from these 4.

Just for your interest: A Madhab is what the founder(i am only using this word so you do not get confused) extracted from Quran and Sunnah. Madhab is a collection of Islamic Rulings extracted from quran and sunnah and only a MUJTAHID-E-MUTLAQ(100% mujtahid, no less) can do this and since their time, we havent seen one again, tho Mujtahids existed, in fact a lot of them but the number of Mujtahid e Mutlaqs never reached more than 50(or maybe even less, 30?). I.e 4 imams, Imam Awzai, Sufyan Thawri, Imam Layth, 2 Sahiben(Imam Muhammad & Abu yusuf) radiallahu anhum etc. The reason it’s so less in number is because they were all gifted by Allah and right now, no one can reach to their level. It’s so difficult that it becomes impossible, even to believe that these people existed. I.e Imam Dhahabi, he was a Human, but look at his memory. he wrote voluminous books and some of them have 30+ volumes i.e Tarikh Al Islam, Siyar Al alam etc. It’s difficult to believe how one human being could write so many things including the records of 100s of 1000s narrators in such a short life time excluding their period?!?!?! Never mind, lets get back.

Allah says in Quran

Tafsir Ibn Kathir R.A: Imam Ibn Kathir (rah) narrates from Abu Musa al-Ash’ari (ra), Abu Huraira (ra) and Ibn Masud (ra) that this ayah was revealed regarding “REMAINING SILENT WHEN IMAM RECITES”… Then Imam Ibn Kathir says:

وقال أبو حنيفة وأحمد بن حنبل: لا يجب على المأموم قراءة أصلاً في السرية ولا الجهرية بما ورد في الحديث «من كان له إمام فقراءته قراءة له» وهذا الحديث رواه الإمام أحمد في مسنده عن جابر مرفوعاً، وهو في موطأ مالك عن وهب بن كيسان عن جابر موقوفاً، وهذا أصح

Translation: Imam Abu Hanifa (rah) and Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (rah) say that Qirat is not binding upon Muqtadi“WHETHER IN SILENT OR LOUD PRAYER” because it has come in hadith that whosoever has an Imam then his recitation is your recitation, this hadith is narrated by Imam Ahmed in his Musnad from Jabir (ra) in the “MARFU FORM” and in Muwatta Imam Malik via the route of Wahb bin Kaysan who nattated from Jabir (ra) in Mawquf form. (Ibn Kathir said) This is more correct [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, (1/281) under 7:204]

May Allah immensely bless Imam Ibn Kathir (rah) who in-spite of being a Shafi’i proved the stance of Imam Abu Hanifa and Ahnaaf as closer to Qur’an. copied from ahlus-sunna.com(click here to read his article as well)
